Sport Hagleitner is our dynamically growing family business in the sports retail sector with headquarters in Saalbach. We have been running a traditional sports shop for over 70 years, now in its fourth generation, and with three locations located directly on the Schattberg X-press and in the direction of Hinterglemm, we specialise in skis, snowboards and customised ski boots, as well as mountain bikes in summer, especially enduro, downhill and gravel bikes. Our entire team makes sure that we only work with outstanding brands that not only we, the Hagleitner family, but also our motivated employees are 100% behind. We have been working with the same employees for many years, who actively support us in winter and summer. In addition to our core team, other employees, especially international ones, help us during the season so that we can respond ideally to the needs of our broad customer base and exceed expectations. In order to be able to keep up with the latest market trends, we provide training and are always pleased to have the influence of "young blood". We are and have always been diverse and are happy to welcome any new exciting employees.
Hagleitner's 4th generation
Marcel Hagleitner has been running Sport Hagleitner since 2013. Prior to that, he was the branch manager for the "Bootfitting branch", where he was able to put into practice the experience and ideas he had gained over the years while working as a ski instructor and boot fitter abroad, particularly in Australia and South America. He and his wife Laura met while mountain biking and are now expanding the summer business with their contacts from the bike industry. Through marketing activities such as events with athletes and partnerships with major bike manufacturers in particular, our customers can now test more than 100 bikes and immerse themselves in the depths of the bike industry.
Hagleitner's 3rd generation
Maick Hagleitner has been running Sport Hagleitner since 2003. He moved closer to the centre of Saalbach back in 1985. He therefore leased a shop so that he could be closer to customers and their needs. This led to the idea of a ski depot so that customers could leave their skis overnight and pick them up freshly prepared the next morning. In 1987, he moved a few metres further into the village centre, directly opposite the Schattberg X-press, and opened today's "Bootfitting and Bike Workshop" branch. Together with his wife Monika, they remodelled and expanded this location three times. After Maick took over the business completely in 2003, they expanded the family business with another location, the "Alpenland". This is where the heart of Sport Hagleitner beats today.
Hagleitner's 2nd generation
Rudi Hagleitner took over Sport Buchberger from his stepfather in 1972. At the same time, he changed the name to Sport Hagleitner. Until then, the sports shop had been a winter-only ski hire business. In 1973, he and his wife Tilly were the first to start bike hire in Saalbach, paving the way for a much later era in what had become Austria's largest bike region. In 1974, thanks to his outstanding expertise in the ski industry, they achieved the next highlight: they were granted a special trading licence and were finally able to sell skis and bikes.
Hagleitner's 1st generation
It all began in 1946 with Alfred Buchberger. He was a ski jumper and worked as a ski instructor. This gave rise to his passion for skiing, which is why he entered the sporting goods industry with 15 pairs of rental skis. In order to be able to prepare his hire skis and the skis of his customers, he expanded his business in 1965 to include a ski workshop. In 1971, he built a new family home, in which premises for his sports shop were created on the ground floor. These premises are still in use today and our "main shop" was created.
